Lockdown Lab is a place for Heart n Soul to showcase the new ways our artists are finding to make new work, experiment creatively, and spend time together during lockdown. Read on to find out what our artists have been up to, and watch and listen to some of their experiments!

Electric Fire…

… wrote another new song together! William took the recordings of percussion that Alicia had sent the band WhatsApp group. He looped these and put effects on them and added a melody line. They then wrote the lyrics together and recorded vocal parts and drum parts through Zoom. Watch the video to see some of the process.

Walking though the park
With electric fires heart
When sky are flying high

Electric Fire is made up of Alicia (vocals), Ehima (drums and percussion), Sam (synths and vocals) and William (laptop, production and vocals). Their sound was developed when they started using cutting edge digital music technology in collaboration with Heart n Soul's SoundLab project.

Electric Fire also have a brand new music video for their song Buzzin’. Taken from their second EP this is all about the feeling you get when everything is going your way, from having rice or sausage rolls for lunch to touring Hong Kong, Electric Fire are a relentlessly positive band!
